It is difficult to describe the beauty of The Abbey Inn and Spa. The restoration of the church and buildings built in the late 1800's was done to perfection. All the old beautiful wood and design were preserved. Modern conveniences lighting, WiFi, and 40+ simple, elegant, boutique hotel rooms and small intimate bar and restaurants, were added . These additions melded completely with the surrounding antiquities.
We were the first Covid wedding. ( Or any wedding for that matter. Since the Opening and Closing of The Abbey was in March 2020. ) All requirements were closely followed. Small, only 30 people. By NYS law there was no dancing allowed. It didn't matter. We had a blast. The DJ rocked anyway. Well spaced persons at all times. Weather was exceptional on Labor Day Weekend, so we were outside except for 2 dinners. The wedding dinner was in the old church. On entering that space, it will take your breath away.
There are no negatives to report. The Manager, Elaine, and all the staff were lovely and efficient and friendly. The food outstanding.
In case of bad weather, there are several beautiful inside spaces that will accommodate your party. In fact, you may have a hard time deciding which one to use !
